For 2010, the BMW X5 models add new standard headlight washers, USB port and an iPod connectivity cable; the 30i and 48i can now be ordered with an M Sport Package, which includes M Aerodynamic Package, sport suspension, sport seats, M leather-wrapped steering wheel, satin aluminum roof rails and shadow line, anthracite roof liner, high-speed tuning and 19-inch V-spoke M alloy wheels.

The new high-performance X5M, introduced alongside the X6M, uses a new 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

The X5 offers a choice of four engines: a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder in the xDrive30i; a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel in the xDrive35d; a 4.8-litre V8 in the xDrive48i; and a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 in the X5M. All use a six-speed automatic transmission.
