A development prototype example of Jaguar’s new sports car, the F-TYPE, recently made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
Utilizing Jaguar’s knowledge of all-aluminum construction, the F-TYPE will launch as a convertible and a strict two-seater with the focus uncompromisingly on delivering driver reward, noted the company.
Powered by a mix of supercharged V6 and V8 engines, the F-TYPE is currently undergoing development. Taking on the most challenging roads, extremes of temperature and the harshest environments on the planet, the F-TYPE is being thoroughly tested ahead of its launch.
The production car will be shown later in the year and will go on sale mid-2013, according to Jaguar.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed was this year themed around “Young Guns – Born to Win”, celebrating drivers, riders, designers and engineers. The company added that, as part of the festival’s festivities, the F-TYPE was driven up the famous Goodwood Hill by Jaguar’s Head of Vehicle Integrity Mike Cross.
