The FXDR gets the firm’s badass 114 cubic inch motor, which we tested here when we had an H-D Fat Bob last year. Harley claims the 114 will churn out a huge 119 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm, although the FXDR gets an updated, forward facing intake to look like the factory Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines drag racers and a new two-into-one exhaust that helps aid cornering clearance.
The motor can be enhanced via the company’s accessory range with parts like a new titanium muffler that weighs 50 percent less than stock, and the Stage 1 tuning kit with a Screamin’ Eagle Air Cleaner Kit and the Screamin’ Eagle Pro Street Tuner. Once you’ve got the Stage 1 kit on your bike, you can look at going Stage 2, 3 or even 4—which doesn’t void your warranty when the work is done by a Harley-Davidson dealer.
