Fourth Generation Mustang that featured unique styling, performance, and collectibility. Ford partnered with Warner Bros to offer a special version of its GT with the Bullitt nameplate, as an homage to the First Generation Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 movie Bullitt. The special edition Bullitt cost $3,500 more than a stock GT coupe, and many of the 5,582 produced sold new at or above MSRP ($28,230 USD). The exterior, which was offered in green, black, or blue finish featured a unique hood scoop, rear roof trim, lower rocker moldings, unique rear side windows, as well as a variety of other cosmetic changes. The handling-focused Bullitt featured larger brakes, lowered suspension, and sub-frame connectors. Interior features include aluminum pedals and shifter, gauge facings, leather seat upholstery patterned after the 1968 model. The 4.6L V-8 generated 305hp which powered the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual transmission. This was a one-year only special edition for the Fourth Generation Mustang.
